Paul D. McCoy : ( President )

Mr. McCoy directs the overall operations of the company, spearheads policy issues such as market structure determinations, and represents Trans-Elect externally. Prior to co-founding the original Trans-Elect in 1999, he spent 27 years at Commonwealth Edison (ComEd), lastly as Executive Vice President of Unicom (ComEd's holding company), and President of ComEd's Transmission Group. As an influential contributor to the overall utility business, McCoy has held numerous leadership positions in major industry organizations and helped form the Midwest Independent System Operator.

Mr. McCoy earned a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology, and is a licensed professional engineer in the state of Illinois . He is also an independent member of the AltaLink Board of Directors, and is chair of its Governance and Compensation Committee. Moreover, Mr. McCoy is a member of the Board of Directors for the North American Energy Standards Board as well as a member of the International Council on Large Electric Systems (CIGRE), Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Power Engineering Society and the Harvard Electricity Policy Group.
